Medical International Excellent Education Program of Henan Medical School – Online Credit Course of Evidence-Based Medicine at University of Eastern Finland Successfully Concluded

On the afternoon of June 3, the Medical International Excellent Training Program of Henan Medical School (HMS) - Online Credit Course of Evidence-Based Medicine at the University of Eastern Finland came to a successful conclusion. The Finnish teaching team includes Keynote Lecture, Director of Public Health Program at the University of Eastern Finland (UEF), Heikki Tikkanen, Professor of the Institute of Biomedicine of UEF, Professor Hana Vrzokowa, Director of the Microsurgery Center of Kuopio University Hospital (KYS), Finland, Virpi Laukkane, Director of International Department of Savonia University of Applied Sciences (Savonia UAS), Finland, etc. Ji Xinying, Deputy Dean of HMS, Shi Zhenyu, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange of HMS, and relevant persons in charge of the courses were invited to attend the closing report. The course closing report was co-hosted by UEF and HENU.

During the meeting, guests from both China and Finland spoke highly of the performance of the HENU students and affirmed the improvement of students' overall quality. Professor Virpi Laukkanen said that he attaches great importance to the cooperation opportunities with Chinese universities and thanks HMS for all the support and dedication to this course, which laid a good foundation for future exchanges and cooperation. Subsequently, Ji Xinying said that this online credit course of Evidence-Based Medicine opened a new door for future cooperation and exchanges among HMS, UEF and Savonia UAS in various fields. In the future, HMS will further establish long-term cooperation and close ties with foreign high-level universities, and jointly build bridges for international exchanges and learning. In order to further enhance the students' international communication skills and improve their comprehensive quality, Dean Ji proposed to introduce international courses such as epidemiology in the next period, build an international brand, and continue to expand the global perspective of medical students to help improve the training of medical students.

The Medical International Excellent Training Program – Online Credit Course of Evidence-Based Medicine at UEF is a foreign high-quality online credit course successfully introduced by HMS under the strong support and guidance of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office to further strengthen the communication skills and critical thinking skills and the development of academic literacy of HMS medical students, assist in the Double First-Class construction, and actively expand foreign cooperation channels. Through this course exchange, the performance of HMS medical students has been highly recognized by UEF and Savonia UAS, and 5 students have received signed letters of recommendation from UEF professors.
